Laura joined the office in 2003 and is the assistant auditor general of our performance audit and related assurance portfolio. The work she oversees covers the full breadth of the provincial public sector. She is also a member of the leadership team that sets the strategic direction of the office.
Laura has over 15 years of experience completing both performance and internal audits throughout the B.C. government and has led many large audits in the health and social services sectors. Laura started working at the Office of the Auditor General in 2003 as a co-op student and has played several roles within the office during that time. In addition, she has worked as an internal auditor for the Office of the Comptroller General of British Columbia and held management, policy, and research positions within the health and social services sectors.
Laura has a BA in political science and a master’s in public administration from the University of Victoria.
In her spare time, Laura likes to spend time with her friends and family camping. She can be often found exploring local trails with her dog Charlie and hanging out with her son and their horse Kingston.
