Co-op programs
We hire co-op students in our Financial Audit, Performance Audit, and Support Services portfolios.
What we look for
We look for highly motivated students enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program, depending on the position. Completion of specific post-secondary courses may also be required.
You don’t need a background in accounting to work with our office! Our permanent staff have a variety of educational and work experience, from political science, history and law, to environmental studies, business, and fine arts.

CPA programs
Student working toward their CPA designation can get valuable experience as an audit associate!
What we look for
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting OR bachelor’s degree and post-graduate diploma in accounting (including CPA program prerequisites) by the position start date
- General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- General knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS)

Benefits for students
While studying to gain their CPA designation, associates participate in financial statement audits, and performance audits, as needed. Audit associates will interact with all levels of staff of auditees, primarily in financial management and potentially with program managers of ministries, crown corporations and agencies, universities, colleges, school districts, health authorities, and more.
Our program is pre-approved, which streamlines the process of getting your CPA. You will have a Practical Experience Reporting Tool (PERT) mentor, a student buddy, and an office buddy.
